Hi, I’m Chrissay and I’m a frustrated planner and journal writer and these are my confessions. Charot! (That means joke in Tagalog hehe)
Hello there Happy friends! Happy February!!!! After so much trial and error, I have come to terms of what works and what does not with my 2024 planners.
This year I decided to get rid of the old and welcome the somewhat new. I was Hobonichi Cousin girl for the longest time. I adored the option of a Monthly, Weekly, and Daily spread. But after awhile it became such a mundane task to actually find stickers, use washi tapes, and write down my daily tasks twice with in one journal.

I decided this year I would try out the Midori Hibino. So far, its been good to me! I was enticed by its cute small size, but more so on the monthly and daily sections. I find myself using the monthly section a lot more since the weekly spread is nulled out with the Hibino. The daily spread also gave me the daily task listing to the right and two full pages of journaling. There are times where i do find myself not really finding words to write down, but just having that option and knowing I have all the room to write is a plus. This year I didn’t want anything too ‘cutesy’ I wanted to keep it simple; just writing and no stickers or washi tape. By doing this, it gave me more opportunity to not feel so pressured to decorate and focus on what I wanted to reflect on daily. I am definitely enjoying my time using my Hibino. I still have a lot to explore with this journal especially since its my first time using it.

It is official; I went back to a Bullet Journal! I needed to find a way to be creative. I didn’t really know where to start but I wanted to outline this years goals and also express myself creatively. I used to bullet journal with an 6 ring A5 and the spreads really didn’t match right because they were in a binder versus a book form.
So I took it upon myself to go down to Barnes and Noble to pick up the Leuchtturm1917 Bullet Journal Black Dotted Edition 2. I love the feel of the pages and how my pens don’t bleed through. So far, all i have done was decorate my front page with ‘HAPPY 2024’, made a yearly goal tracker, and words of affirmation spread. Which of course I will share later on. I am coming to terms on what I would like to do for my monthly spreads and weekly spreads and I’m really excited on what’s to come for the rest of the year.

And last but not the least!!! My A5 6 Ring Binder also known as my book journal! I really didn’t know what to do with this binder because my intentions were to use it for bullet journaling. And since I thought it looked awkward, I had to figure out what to do with it. Trust me when I say that I sat on this thought for a good week or so. I had no clue on how to utilize this thing! One day I sat at my desk and looked through it and saw that towards the end of last year I started to use it to give my thoughts on the books I finished. It was like a light bulb went off. I have never really done a reading journal before, so this is all so new to me. I really don’t know where to start other than sharing my own thoughts and feelings towards a novel that I read. My book Journal is probably going to be one of my greatest adventures this year.
I am so curious on my planner journey will go this year. I have only stuck to one planner for a long time and juggling three is a bit intimidating. I am excited to see my progress through out this adventure and to also share with what I can come up with.
Don’t forget that happiness is in the little things you do to make this world a better place. Be kind to yourself and be kind to other and be sure to look out for yourself and one another. Until my next post. -C
