December Reads!

Hello Hello! I had such a good December reading month and I am excited to share with you what I read.

Daisy Darker By Alice Feeny 5 STARS
Daisy Darker and her family are invited back to Nana’s House on a secluded island to celebrate Nana’s 80th birthday. After Nana’s birthday dinner, one by one they all start disappearing and are later found dead. The many twist and turns in this story left me wanting so much more. Especially when you get to the jaw dropping secret at the end. Daisy Darker is super quotable; I found myself highlighting a lot of quotes that I can relate to. This is hands down one of the best reads of last year. Did i also mention the Jaw Dropping plot twist at the end? Okay, good. Now go read it please!

None Of This is True By Lisa Jewell 5/5 STARS
Pardon my French, But what the actual fuck Lisa Jewell! This is a masterpiece of modern Thriller. Lisa Jewel tells a tale of oddly fated women who have the same birthday and later create a podcast relating to being birthday twins. Both Alix and Josie may seem like two good friends on the outside, but what goes on behind closed doors is a whole different story. As an avid reader of thriller mystery said what the f*ck so many times while I read this book. One of a kind novel that keeps you at the edge of your seat. To be honest, in the end, you really do have to ask if what you read was true.

The Over Night Guest By Heather Gudenkauf 4/5 STARS

Based off of Josie’s stay at an isolated farm where a murder occurred a few years ago. Josie, a true crime writer, finds herself trapped inside this farm during a snow storm and while she let’s her dog out to do her business, she finds a child burred in the snow. Josie then has to find out who this child is and where they came from; especially in the middle of a snow storm! This was well written and also has two different point of views, one in the past the other in the present. I didn’t mind the back and forth from past to present, but there is this once scene that is in the book that kind of made it off putting for me. If you’re wondering what it is and don’t mind a spoiler I can let you know haha! A good read, but I would probably only read it once.

December was super fun for me. As a reader, I am excited that I actually finished three books within a month. I am hoping I can do the same in 2024. If not, its all good there is no right or wrong way of reading! As long as you’re enjoying it and it makes you happy that is all that matters.

Don’t forget that happiness is in the little things you do to make this world a better place. Be kind to yourself and be kind to others. Look out for yourself and one another. Until my next post. -C
